2. Negative

Subject + no + iba/ibas/etc. + a + infinitive

No iba a comer. = I wasn't going to eat.

Ella no iba a venir. = She wasn't going to come.

No íbamos a hacerlo. = We weren't going to do it.

3. “Was about to”

For “was about to”, Spanish can also use estar a punto de + infinitive:

Subject + estaba + a punto de + infinitive

Estaba a punto de salir. = I was about to leave.

Ella estaba a punto de llorar. = She was about to cry.

So:

I was going to leave → Iba a salir.

I was about to leave → Estaba a punto de salir.

The first emphasizes a plan/intention, while the second emphasizes that the action was imminent.

2- NOUNS

In spanish, there are 2 genders: male and female. we add the suffix -o to a male noun and the suffix -a to a female noun
